Warm Married Life: Mr. President Loves His Darling Wife

Chapter 463 - 462: Heartache

Chapter 463 - 462: Heartache

Archer Quinn quieted down, tiptoed out of bed, and walked over to see Bella Acker asleep on the bed.

The girl’s small face was pressed against the pillow, making her cheeks puff out adorably.

Archer couldn’t help but reach out his finger and gently poke her cheek.

In her sleep, Bella Acker raised her hand, lightly slapped it away, then grabbed his finger, mumbling, "Damian, stop it, I’m so tired." The last few words were very muffled, but that one name was enunciated clearly, as if she had said it thousands of times.

Archer’s heart suddenly ached with a dull pain. He gave a barely noticeable bitter smile, gently withdrew his finger from her small hand, tucked her in, and returned to his own bed.

Archer lay on his bed, the bitter smile on his lips deepening. The flutter in his heart from having his finger held had yet to be savored before it was shattered by that one name.

Bella, if... if I had met you before Damian Sinclair, would you have fallen for me?

But such "ifs" will never exist. He was destined to always be a step too late, tasting only bitterness.

The next morning, Bella Acker rubbed her sore neck from sleeping in the wrong position all night, frowning as she tried to remember at what point she had fallen asleep last night.

She had woken up quite late and felt a bit embarrassed to find everyone else was already up.

Archer Quinn walked a lap outside and returned, refreshed, "Morning, Bella."

"Morning." Bella Acker had just brushed her teeth and washed her face. Seeing Archer Quinn come over to wash his hands, she scooted closer to him and whispered, "Senior Quinn, why didn’t you wake me up when you got up? Being the last to get up, everyone must think I’m the laziest."

There were cameras filming everywhere, and she didn’t know what actions the program team might edit and broadcast.

Archer controlled the urge to tap her head, laughing, "When I got up, you were sleeping so soundly like a little pig that I couldn’t bring myself to wake you."

"Oh?" Bella’s eyes widened, then she scrunched her face like a bun, "Did I drool? Snore? Was I terribly ugly?"

"Pfft." Archer couldn’t help but laugh, looking at her with a gentle, doting gaze that even he didn’t notice. "No, you were especially cute."

Bella blushed and giggled, "Senior Quinn, you’re such a good buddy for complimenting me like this. Does your conscience not hurt?"

"Oh, stop acting all innocent after getting a good deal." Archer finally couldn’t help himself, bending his finger to lightly tap her forehead, "We have some work later this morning, hurry up and finish washing up and come help."

"Okay." Bella cheerfully agreed with a crisp voice, quickly finishing her wash to tidy herself up.

Since she woke up later than everyone else, she didn’t bother getting her makeup done, appearing on camera barefaced.

She had good skin and at her young age, her features were delicate and pretty, looking naturally cute with her face full of collagen.

The program crew, seeing this through the lens, dismissed the idea of having her put on makeup.

Bella Acker and Archer Quinn needed to leave after ten, and the morning task was just cleaning up the dishes from last night’s dinner.

After helping with that, they had more than an hour left. With nothing else to do, Bella decided to take some language test papers and work on them at the small table in the yard.

She was taking advantage of the time to study, and the program team thought it was a good selling point, so they carried the camera over to film behind her.
