Chapter 1059: Getting Straight to the Point
Chapter 1059: Getting Straight to the Point
Rachel Sherman felt a pang in her heart, but the smile on her face remained strong.
She gently patted Faye Turner’s shoulder and instead comforted her, "What’s past is past; life is meant to be experienced, not to be perfect."
Faye Turner thought of Dylan Shaw today, which suggests her memory might have a chance of recovery. The traditional medicine brought back from the Xavier Family that day has almost been consumed.
This morning, after finishing his business, Adrian Lancaster went to see Old Mr. Downey.
He was quite courteous, bringing some practical items for the elderly, food and necessities, nothing too expensive.
"Dr. Downey!"
His luxury car was parked at the roadside, and he carried his bags through the alley, arriving at a slightly old-looking door.
He knocked on the door and found it unlocked, so he pushed it open casually.
As he stepped into the yard, a pleasant aroma of traditional medicine greeted him.
The yard was very clean, with two unidentified trees, but the fallen leaves had already been swept away.
"Dr. Downey!"
Adrian Lancaster hadn’t called in advance, but the door wasn’t locked, indicating the old man should be home or not far away.
"Is Dr. Downey home?"
Just as he finished speaking, he saw a white-bearded old man step out, "President Lancaster?" The old man was a bit surprised to see him, "Why are you here?"
"Master!" Adrian Lancaster was happy to see him, quickly correcting himself, "I came to see you!"
Carrying his things, he quickened his pace, "Just call me Adrian; I came today to see you!"
The old man looked behind him, "Didn’t Faye come with you?"
Passing by the old man, Adrian Lancaster entered the house, placing his things on the ground as he responded, "Rachel is accompanying her today, so I didn’t bring her. I came by myself to talk with you about her condition."
"Please sit, please sit," the old man welcomed him, "You didn’t need to bring anything just to visit."
"Just some daily essentials; it’s not easy for you to get to the city, and you need to take care of so many medicinal herbs, drying and turning them over, so you probably don’t have much time."
He was truly considerate, as giving gifts should be thoughtful, rather than merely stuffing luxury items into someone’s arms to show respect.
Since he had gotten straight to the point, the old man understood his purpose, so they directly discussed Faye’s condition—
"My disciple’s condition is headed in a positive direction. There’s no need to rush or to go to the hospital since she’s already receiving traditional medical treatment."
"Alright," Adrian Lancaster remembered, "Rest assured, since I trust you, I won’t take her to see any other doctors."
"I’ve recently gathered more herbs and prepared a new prescription. Can you take the medicine back with you?"
Adrian Lancaster was delighted, "I came to get the medicine today; we only have enough for today at home."
"How has she been recently? Is she sleeping well at night?"
Adrian Lancaster recalled, "Pretty good. I took her to the office yesterday to meet an old classmate, and she actually remembered something about him."
Hearing this, the old man was also quite relieved, "That’s good, everything will be alright; it’s just a matter of time, don’t rush her."
"Mm-hmm!" Adrian Lancaster gained confidence, "Master, I’ll keep you updated on her condition, and we’ll change the prescription when appropriate, treating according to the situation."
The old man said, "I think so too."
It seems the grand wedding can be planned now, as beautiful images have already formed in Adrian Lancaster’s mind.
