Chapter 1067: She Will Fall in Love with Him
"When we found that ring in the river, everyone analyzed that you were eaten by a big fish and couldn’t possibly come back. The young master cried in despair all night, but deep down he had a firm belief that you must still be alive."
Mrs. Rhodes added, "The next day, he went to the temple and knelt without rising, his eyes were red and swollen from two days and nights of kneeling. They couldn’t persuade him - neither the elder nor the abbot. He wouldn’t eat or drink, just knelt there, reportedly even got drenched by the rain, and kept asking Buddha why you were taken away from his side."
"..." Upon hearing this, Faye Turner’s smile gradually froze, and she felt terribly uncomfortable inside.
"The young master is definitely the most devoted person I’ve ever seen. He really, really loves you," Mrs. Rhodes tried to matchmake a bit.
Faye felt a little embarrassed; if she didn’t love Adrian Lancaster, would that be considered ungrateful?
Her heart was filled with emotion, and she made up her mind that regardless of whether she could remember him in the future, she would be good to him! Fulfilling the responsibilities and duties of a good wife!
"Ma’am, it’s time for your herbal medicine." About two hours later, someone knocked on the door and peeked inside.
"Okay." Faye handed the child to Mrs. Rhodes, "Thank you for your hard work." Then she got up to drink the herbal medicine.
Just like last night, she took the bowl from Adrian Lancaster’s hands and drank it in one go, the bitterness making her nasal passages feel uncomfortable.
He took the empty bowl she handed over and gave her a candy.
"Thank you." Faye took the candy and placed it in her mouth, the bitter taste instantly washed away, leaving only a sweet honey flavor.
Adrian Lancaster asked her, "Do you have any inspiration tonight? Do you still need to design clothes?"
"Yes, why don’t you go play with our daughter? She’s having a lot of fun, probably won’t feel sleepy for a while."
"Alright." Then Adrian Lancaster watched her walk upstairs.
As she rounded the staircase, the butler took the empty bowl from his hand, and Adrian Lancaster began to head toward the children’s room.
"Little one, look who’s here! It’s Daddy! Daddy!" Mrs. Rhodes prompted little Joy.
"Daddy, Daddy, Daddy..." The little one stood there holding a toy, her little legs bouncing in excitement at seeing her father.
Adrian Lancaster picked up the child and couldn’t help but ask Mrs. Rhodes directly, "Did you tell her?"
"Yes, yes, every day I tell the ma’am how much you’ve missed her while she was away," Mrs. Rhodes lowered her voice, speaking emotionally, all in hopes of matchmaking, had already spoken many good words for him.
Adrian Lancaster clasped his hands together, immensely grateful, "Thank you, thank you. What was her expression after she heard?"
"Moved! She was so moved! Her smile even froze, she probably feels she owes you a lot," Mrs. Rhodes said happily. "Sometimes I think, even if ma’am never regains her memory, it won’t be long before she falls for you all over again."
Actually, Adrian Lancaster also had this premonition and confidence.
"Thank you for your hard work, Mrs. Rhodes." He was filled with gratitude for her as well.
"It’s my duty, I just wish for you both to be well."
After accompanying the child for about an hour, until little Joy was tired from playing and her chubby hands began to rub her eyes.
"She’s sleepy, hand her to me." Mrs. Rhodes, who had been by their side, stood up and reached out for the child.
Little Joy voluntarily nestled into Mrs. Rhodes’s arms, snuggled a bit, and then started to close her eyes.
She’s truly a little angel, so easy to look after, rarely fussing, especially at bedtime - she’s particularly well-behaved.
Adrian Lancaster left the children’s room, but unlike last night, he didn’t wait for her in the master bedroom.
Instead, he went to the design studio on the fourth floor, wanting to see her at work.
Faye sat at the sewing machine, skillfully operating, pressing the fabric in her hands according to the design in her mind, shaping it bit by bit.
Adrian Lancaster stood at the doorway, gazing at the woman diligently working under the light, feeling that this scene was immensely beautiful.
