To Raiden Ashford,

Dear Raiden Ashford. We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected as one of the pre-seed contestants for our Archon Academy admission test. Please report at the nearest Alliance branch to undergo further examination. We look forward to seeing you in person.

With Kind Regards

-Archon Academy

Morgana looked at the mail letter in front of her, then Raiden, who seemed to be keeping his distance from her.

"Are you really not going??" Morgana took a deep breath and asked.

"No way!! I barely got out of high school. You want me to study more at the university? Not happening under my watch. Uh ah. Anyone who wants to go can do it by themselves."

A look of disdain appeared on Raiden’s face as he talked about the University, as if just thinking about it disgusted him.

"Alright. I’ll be leaving this place for now... I need to prepare for the test." Morgana took a deep breath before looking at Raiden and making her thoughts clear to him.

To be honest, she already had lost all hope of competing in that exam. She would have to take part next year after healing. But due to the miracle performed by Raiden at the last minute, this had changed her life trajectory completely for the better.

Now that life had given her a second chance, she didn’t intend to waste it.

"Are you sure you don’t want to go...even with me??" Morgana looked at him with a pleading expression on her face.

Hearing her words, Raiden’s composure cracked for a moment before he assumed a nonchalant expression on his face once again.

"Nope. Like I said, my future plans were already decided. University or education is not for me. I prefer living as free as a bird. You go ahead, I’ll be cheering you on."

Morgana stared intensely at him, who felt pressure building under her gaze. He turned his head around and started staring at random things, trying to avoid eye contact with her.

Bam!!

"Fine!! I am leaving right now." She stood up and started marching outside the house.

As soon as she opened the door, a few figures fell through it on the ground, making her freeze.

Looking at Sylvia, Woolie, Neva, and Cinder, who were likely eavesdropping on them, she didn’t know what to say for the moment.

"Ehehehe, nice weather we are having, huh??" Sylvia tried to change the topic with a nervous laugh, only to come to a halt under the intense gaze of her future sister-in-law.

"Come on, Cinder, let’s go right now!! We have much more important things to do." Morgana marched outside the farm without looking back.

"Sylvia, go see our guests out." Raiden’s voice called out from inside, making Sylvia snap at him.

"You big dumb idiot!!! What are you doing sitting there?! Hurry up and go after her!!" She practically hissed at him in anger.

Who knew her brother could be so dumb-dumb?

"Me?? No way!! Let her go if she wants to. We live in different worlds anyway." Raiden waved his hand, refusing to budge from his chair.

"Are you serious right now?!" A disbelieving expression appeared on her face as she stared at him.

"Of course I am serious."

"Fine!! You brought this upon yourself. Aunt Ruby!!!"

Raiden, who had been sitting calmly at the table, froze.

He mechanically turned his head around to find the crimson serpent appearing behind him, staring directly into his soul with her golden eyes.

"Rai Rai~ Go afterr herr righttt noww, or I’ll throww you outt~" She spoke in a cold hissing tone, making his blood freeze a little.

"Damn it!! Fine!! I’m going, okay?!" He got up from his seat and started walking over reluctantly. He really did not want to entangle himself with her any further.

It’s better to cut off contact early.

Looking at him, who was walking slower than a turtle, Sylvia couldn’t take it anymore and snapped.

"That’s it. Woolie!! Take my brother and run towards Morgana as fast as possible. Make sure they will meet, okay?? I’m counting on you."

Woolie’s eyes lit up after hearing her words. This seemed like a fun thing to do.

"Woolie Woo!!" Leave everything to me!!

"Hey!! What gives?!"

Raiden wasn’t given any chance to protest further as he was picked up by Woolie, who started running straight towards the exit of the farm at full speed.

Morgana, on the other hand, was standing in front of her car and hesitating a little.

She had run out of the house on impulse. But she did not want to end things like this. It felt wrong to her.

Just as she made up her mind and turned around, she was surprised to find a speeding blur zooming towards her.

"Hey!! Slow down a little, I said!!"

Within a second, it stopped directly in front of her face, where Raiden flew off Woolie’s back due to inertia.

Seeing this, Morgana instinctively reached out with her hands and grabbed him from the air, holding him in her arms.

Looking at the face directly in front of her, her heartbeat started speeding up unnaturally. She felt butterflies in her stomach as she stared deep into his eyes.

Raiden, too, felt lost for a moment as he stared at her beautiful face.

A second later, he snapped to attention, pushing her away.

"You?! Am I really that unattractive to you?! Do you not really like me at all, Raiden Ashford?! Huh?! Answer me!!"

Tears appeared in Morgana’s eyes as she stared at Raiden. It hurt. It hurt so bad.

Looking at the crying girl in front of him, Raiden panicked.

"Hey, hey, hey!! Don’t cry like that, please!! I-Uh-" Raiden didn’t know where to place his hands as he kept waving them around her in panic.

"Why do you care if I cry or not, huh?! Who do you think you are?? How are you related to me?!! Why should I listen to you!! Why?!"

Raiden choked for a moment after hearing her words. He didn’t know how to answer her.

Friends?? Best friends?? Teammates?? Farm buddies?? Or something more...?

He couldn’t figure it out.

"Let’s clear this right now!! I am not going anywhere without getting my answers. Tell me, what are we to each other?!" Morgana started walking towards him, and he kept backing away.

A few seconds later, Raiden hit a wall behind him, getting cornered by the woman.

"Is there a reason why you don’t like me, Raiden?? Did I ever do anything wrong? Or is it something about my personality that you don’t like? If there is, talk to me. I’ll work on it. But give me an answer before that. Why, why don’t you like me?" Her voice was full of pain and on the verge of breaking as she questioned him.

Looking at her pained expression and feeling the hurt in her voice, Raiden snapped.

"I like you, okay?! I like you a lot!! Hell, I might even love you!! But I can’t!! I have too many responsibilities on me. I need to pay back the debt. I need to raise my sister. I need to take care of the farm. I need to find out the mystery behind the disappearance of my parents. And then there is that ashen bloodline which constantly hovers over me like a hanging sword!! There are too many people out there trying to kill me. My life is a quagmire, a dangerous one, and I don’t want to pull you in, okay?? I don’t want you to get hurt because of me." Raiden confessed his heartfelt feelings, his voice quivering as little tears slid down his face.

"I really want to be with you. Trust me, I really, really do. But the danger I am involved in is much greater than you can even imagine, and I don’t want you to get hurt because of me ever. It broke my heart seeing you crying on the stage that day, okay?? I can’t bear to watch it again. So please, just go from my life."

Morgana started laughing bitterly after hearing his words.

"Selfish, how selfish you are, Rai!! Who are you to make decisions for me? Did you ever ask my opinion? Did you ever think of what I wanted?! You did not! Did you? I can choose for myself. I decide who stays in my life and who goes, not you. And if you are pushing me away for some bullshit reason like this, I won’t stand for it."

"I love you, and nothing you can do to change my mind. You. Are. Mine."

She grabbed his collar and dragged him towards her, clashing her lips with his.

Feeling the softness on his lips, Raiden’s eyes widened in surprise.

Seeing no response from him, Morgana felt frustrated, kissing him even more intensely.

She bit his lip in frustration, drawing blood.

As if feeling the intensity, Raiden started responding back.

Just like that, under the intense emotions, both of them kissed each other hungrily, only drawing away from each other when they couldn’t breathe.

"I love you, Raiden Ashford, and you are mine."
